Overview

Banh Mi & Rolls Elizabeth Street is a standout Vietnamese takeaway spot nestled in the heart of Brisbane City at 300 Elizabeth Street. This compact venue caters to those craving authentic Vietnamese flavors with a no-fuss, grab-and-go approach, perfect for busy city workers, food enthusiasts, and anyone seeking a quick yet satisfying meal.

The menu, while succinct, offers a well-curated selection of classic Vietnamese staples, focusing heavily on their hallmark banh mi and rice paper rolls. The banh mi shines as the star dish—crispy baguettes with a delicate crunch outside and a soft, fluffy inside hold generous fillings like crispy roasted pork, lemongrass chicken, and BBQ pork. Their grilled meats marry perfectly with freshly pickled radish, carrot, and aromatic herbs, delivering balanced textures and vibrant flavors that honor traditional recipes.

Rice paper rolls provide appealing alternatives, including Char Siu Pork, Hot & Spicy Chicken, and Smoked Salmon options, catering to varied palates and dietary preferences. For those mindful of carb intake or seeking vegetarian bites, the fresh, light rolls are a thoughtful inclusion, reflecting the restaurant’s awareness of diverse customer needs.

The experience at Banh Mi & Rolls Elizabeth Street is defined by freshness, generosity, and efficiency. Patrons frequently highlight the superior quality of the baguette—a standout feature that elevates the whole sandwich, resisting sogginess and maintaining crispness throughout the meal. The fillings are ample, though some find the portion size modest compared to similar offerings in larger Australian cities. Customer feedback also praises the flavorful balance and fresh ingredients, including an often generous spread of pâté and sauces that enrich every bite.

Despite its limited seating—a couple of outdoor benches—the takeaway setup fits well with the fast-paced urban setting. The venue’s popularity suggests it’s a reliable destination for quick lunches or casual snacks, where quality remains uncompromised even during busy periods. The attentive service complements the experience, ensuring that orders are filled promptly and accurately.

In summary, Banh Mi & Rolls Elizabeth Street offers a refined taste of Vietnamese street food culture in a compact, bustling Brisbane locale. It expertly caters to lovers of authentic banh mi while providing versatile options with its rice paper rolls. With fresh, vibrant ingredients and a focus on texture and flavor balance, it’s a must-visit spot for those seeking genuine Vietnamese flavors on the go.

Ordered a Crispy Roast Pork Banh Mi and it was top quality! The Baguette is the best I have come upon in Brisbane or Sydney. It was crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside and stayed that way till I finished the roll. The filling was good - great picked radish and carrots and there was an ample quantity of Roast Pork. If there was more Roast Pork it would have been one of the best Banh Mi I have had. At $13, it isn’t cheap but I’ll happily return. Highly recommended!

Had a delicious banh mi here. It was quite busy, for good reason. The roll came pretty quickly, nevertheless. The menu is not very extensive but low carb requirements are catered for, as are vegetarians.

Fresh, generous, and great service! The banh mi was delicious—can’t wait to try the others. The rice paper and spring rolls were so good, they vanished before I could take a pic. Highly recommend!

For the taste is a good one, also banh mi is crispy. But loss one star because of the size. I think for the same price I had in Perth, Melbourne or Sydney city(the very good one), the proration here is only 2/3, quite small for me, a bit pity for the city size. It seems change a bit because I come for others’ reviews.

This place is popular! The day we went, they ran out of chicken. I had the roast pork with chilli & it was DELICIOUS!! The roll was jam packed with all the ingredients.. generous lathering of pate & mayo + plenty of meat. Roll was nice and crispy on the outside - just great! Assume that this is just a takeaway shop as there is only 2 seats outside at a bench. Pork banh mi will set you back about $13, but you get your money’s worth!

For Brisbane, this Banh Mi place is awesome. Quick service, generous portions and very friendly staff. And a very big plus for me is the fact they have sugar cane juice...

This place always has a long line whenever I’ve seen it, so took a bit of an early lunch to come grab a banh mi and try it out. Ordered a lemongrass chicken banh mi, and it was served fairly quickly and I was on my way! The banh mi tasted great, and the selection of vegetables was very varied and tasty, as well as the sauce being delicious. The main issue was the banh mi was not hot at all, it was a bit cold and that definitely made it less enjoyable! Would be a 5 star if it was a bit warm.
